Italian night in Santa Barbara

At night we arrived in Santa Barbara and needed some food to get back to power. We didn't really do any research on dining so far, so we decided spontaneously while exploring State Street, depending on the indoor atmosphere and the price. Because of the very nice consultation about the vegetarian items on their menu, we decided to try the italian restaurant Aldo's. I ordered the recommended Tomato-Basil-Artichoke Heart Pizza ($9,95) and my boyfriend ordered Wild Mushroom Risotto with Sliced Sirloin ($17,95). Usually I don't really like Artichokes because they're bitter, but this one was very good. The pizzacrust was italian-like thin and crisp and the topping was american-style a lot of marinara sauce, artichokes and lots of fresh basil - i like! This was kind of an extraordinary non-normal vegetarian pizza. So this was a good start for our stay in Santa Barbara.
