Vegan-Day no. 5: Natural Cafe, Santa Barbara

It was about time for the next vegan-day! And the Natural Cafe in Santa Barbara was just about the right place for this. We went there for lunch and (again) so did a lot of other people. This place seems to be quite popular - by now I don't think about America as the Fast Food-place that it used to be known by.
But back to the Natural Cafe. What's quite nice about it and what makes it more laid-back is the fact, that you go and order your menu at the cashiers and then look for a seat and wait for your healthy food to be delivered to your table. For my vegan day I ordered the so-called "Yogi Special", which is made with Tofu, sauteed in ginger-soy sauce and served with brown rice as well as salad with miso-dressing (for $7.99). My boyfriend ordered pasta "Mighty Marinara" with salad and garlic bread ($8.49).
We got a table right at the big windows (which were opened due to the sunny weather), so it felt like seating outside. It was a pleasure to see these (for european standards) normal sizes of the dishes. The tofu was soft and tender and slightly ginger-tasty.
On their website it says, that the Natural Café "is focused on using fresh, regional ingredients to create healthy and delicious food" and I would say the latter they accomplish quite well.

Vorweg besuchten wir die Santa
Barbara Mission
