Next level with Yoga Soup

In the German journal Yoga aktuell I've read about great places for Yoga in California and one studio they recommended was Yoga Soup in Santa Barbara. It is a centrally located Yoga-Community with two beautiful, big studios and a lot of amazing instructors. Another great thing about this place - they have a special offer where you can explore unlimited classes for five days (in a row) for only $25 - awesome!
For my first class I went to Open Yoga with Megan DeAinza and got to experience a totally new, inspiring way of practicing yoga. We didn't just play on the mat - we basically used everything the room offered and went to the walls. It was an intimate class with a great atmosphere. I felt that I could really transform my practice into a new direction by learning new poses.
The second class I participated in was Vinyasa with Kelleigh Kincaid - my first time Vinyasa, I would say. Again, it was an intimate and extremely challenging class - I breathed, I sweated, I forgot everything around me by focussing on myself, my breath, the vinyasas. As requested from Kelleigh, I tried to keep my eyes closed during the class, which was a bit difficult since I learned a lot of new poses (once again), but keeping my eyes closed really helped focussing on the room, the poses and the balance. This truly was an organic experience (and I sure had sore muscles the following day...)! After experiencing quite a few different Yogis, classes and studios I would say this Vinyasa-class and the Hot24 at Purusha Yoga (San Francisco) are my favorites so far.
If ever I'll be back in Santa Barbara, for sure I will return to Yoga Soup!
